With the heat and humidity in Colombo these days, I only dress my little one in cotton baby-shirts and baby dresses (bought at Elegant Smockers, Colpetty) during the day. I would love to sit in the room with the air-con on like I do in the evening and at night, but her nursery needs to be aired out and it’s important that she stays outdoors sometime during the day (also it’s Sri Lanka, so she better get used to the weather!). Although overexposure to the sun can be bad for a little baby’s skin, dressing them in breathable cotton-clothing that allows heat and moisture to escape can help them stay cool in warm weather and still enjoy the garden at home. Just make sure it’s in the morning or dusk/late afternoon because the sun is a beast around noon!
