A good way to measure if the toy you buy for your infant or toddler is safe is to see if it (or its removable parts) can fit very easily through the tube of a toilet paper roll. This also includes buttons on a soft toy or the plastic handle of a rattle. While the age guideline will be mentioned on the cover of every child toy, it is also important to take into account choking hazards, especially when they’re at that age when exploring means sticking whatever they find in their mouths!
