I introduced Zucchini to Ahalya as her 27th ingredient. Because the skin of this type of immature squash is hard for little ones to digest, I steamed it first and added it to a purée of sweet potato, spinach and unsalted butter.
Zucchini is good for your infant for its calcium content so that it can help in developing bone, teeth and transporting nutrients all over the body.
Vitamin C contained by zucchini will also strengthen the infant immune systems. Enzymes required for healthy metabolism and brain development too can be derived from vitamin B6 found in zucchinis.
NOTE
However it is advised that you refrain from introducing your baby to zucchinis before 8 months as they could cause allergies.
