Introducing Mushroom to Baby

After completing 8 months, I offered Ahalya her 61st ingredient to taste; Mushrooms. I made her an organic chicken breast, leek and button mushroom risotto cooked in unsalted butter and coconut milk. I then puréed it with bits of pieces still intact (a creamy and smooth consistency) and fed it to the little one.
Mushrooms are an excellent source of Vitamin D (most infants suffer from vitamin D deficiency and requires a vitamin supplement and mushrooms will help). It is also full of Vitamin B12, Iron, Calcium,Potassium, Selenium and an abundance of antioxidants. Mushroom is known to enhance metabolism in babies and boost their energy. It stimulates and regulates the immune system and prevents common illnesses. Mushrooms also promote skin health and strong bones, lowers the risk of bladder and colon cancer, and protects the liver.
