I introduced my baby to curry leaf or karapincha today. It was her 70th ingredient to try. I added it to her lunch of red rice, vegetables, lentils, greens, coconut milk and fish. From now on, I will be including curry leaf whenever I make Sri Lankan food (including her daily lunch) for Ahalya.
Curry leaves are know for their vitamin C, vitamin A, folic acid, niacin, thiamin and riboflavin content. They are also a great source of calcium and iron. This herb is excellent for your baby’s eyesight, and is effective against gastro-intestinal disorders in infants. The nutrients of the leaf also remedy diarrhea and dysentery, offer liver protection, prevent anemia, improve the production of hemoglobin, have neuro-protective properties and help build your child’s immunity. In addition, these leaves aid healthy bone growth and brain function too.
